I plan on doing a number of long trips this year on my 05 RX-1 and want lots of storage.
My Royal Distributing saddle bags (pro-X combo, top of the page) don't fit around the exhaust, but Royal now lists ones for the RX/RS.
Have any of you tried these on your RX/RS? How well do they fit on the 05's with the taller seat?
Are the RX/RS versions as big? (the standard ones have an extra zipper that lets them expand to almost 1 foot wide each, plus the included trunk bag provides even more storage)
I'm leaning towards buying these and a Yamaha windshield bag for daily rides + possibly the Yamaha RX/RS tank/map bag for shorter trips and extra storage.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
(need to change my name now...)

I have the Yamaha sport combination luggage that straps onto the back of the seat. Did a 7 day trip with it and no problems. It held my stuff, kept it dry, and the bag stays in place. Others have the saddle bags and I haven't heard any problems with those either.

I have the combo tank/map bag and really like it. Lots of room--I carry all my maps plus an extra set of gloves in the map bag.
As for the saddle bags, the simi hard saddlebags have plenty of room for a 7 to 10 day trip.
If you get the saddle bags make sure you get the one that fits the 2005 sleds as my 2003 bags do not fit my new sled.

I just bought the Yamaha saddle bags. They seem to fit very well. Where in Ottawa do you live? I live in Constance Bay just outside of Kanata.

Which bags did you buy? The Semi Ridgid or standard for RX. Trying to get someone to give me some dimensions on the Semi Ridgid and standard bags.
height, length, thickness. Anyone?

I have the standars bags. The compartments are approx. 12"x8". I am not sure of the exact size but there not very big. The saddle bags for the vector are huge and would be perfect if you can make them fit the RX-1.

You're not far from me.
I live in Carp and have often joined my buddies in Constance Bay before heading out to the Quebec side. I'm around a 1/2 hour sled ride to you or less.
Maybe we can hookup for a ride this winter...

I think they are just the standard sattle bags for the vector. They are around 20"x 12".
Almost RX-1, where did you buy you RX-1 from? My wife grew up in Carp and her parents still live there.

It doesn't look like he is on-line, he bought his sled at Arnprior SportLand.
I got my Vector at Carleton Place Marine.
And you?

I bought my sled from Arnprior Sportland. I should have shares in that place I spend so much money there.
