I was trying to change exhaust systems to put on my MBRP system, and I stripped out the two screws (holding the gas tank ) that penetrate the tubing. Any suggestions to get them out?

Thanks!

???

Are you talking about the gas tank cover?Or the 2 bolts that hold the gas tank on top of the tunnel? If your talking about the gas tank cover screws then try taking a large tipped phillips and a hammer and place the bit of the phillips into the screw head and give it a good tap with the hammer while putting pressure on it. Or take a sharp chissel and cut a straight slot into it...Or some here mentioned putting valve grinding compoun on it and use large phillips head..Or an Impact screwdriver..Hope this helps

...as if RXONE hasnt given enough options.... :D .... you could drill a 1/8" hole and use an 'easy-out' that would be available at any autoparts store.... they work great

Thanks! I was referring to the two holding the gas tank cover. Thanks for the tips. Can't wait to get the new exhaust system on!

Get ahold of a product called Grab-it. It has diamond, carbide and other sharp, jagged material in it. It is water based so it doesn't stain. You put some in the head of the screw and it bites into both materials. Increases grip 800% and torque potential 400%. Matco Tools carries it. $8.95 a bottle.

All of your help and suggestions are very much appreciated, as I really don't know sh%# about wrenching. Just trying to learn by doing. Thanks again for all the help!
