Hey guys i just wanted to offer share this info for those of you that didn't know I got several mixed answers you cannot stud the 13/14 xtx 1.25 track it did not come with rear tunnel protectors thst run the length of the tunnel. Because the track will balloon up in the and could puncture your gas tank or catch your exhaust. I have confirmed this with Donahue motorsports and Allen ulmer.
You can however which I'll be doing is adding the protectors it is part numbers:
GL-21443-00-00 BRACKET, PROTECTOR
8GL-2196M-00-00 BRACKET,
8GL-2197M-00-00 BRACKET,
8HL-21978-00-00 PROTECTOR, FRAME

Thanks again yamaha why change something that isn't broke they think noone is going to stud the xtx cause it's strictly for mountain powder riding?

Well I guess it goes both ways. A lot of people complained about ice build up on the protectors. I'd rather add them than take them off (which I would have done). I ride with two other xtxs studded and I for one will never stud mine nor needed it. I ride almost all trails and the 1.75 xtx just hooks n books! I guess it's personal preference and conditions play a major factor. My buddies have not had an issue with them yet so good luck!

Studs I have done many times but I've never had to add or remove protectors how advanced of a job is it

Tunnel protectors will be a piece of cake compared to installing studs. IM almost positive the holes will already be in the tunnel. The protectors most likely come with rivets and predrilled holes so basically drop the suspension align them up and Pop the rivets in. Taking your time should be an hour or less.

Ok thanks for the reassurance I feel better now bit I don't feel good about spending the $220 for the protectors lol

Yea I hear you. I've been frustrated many times with my sled but happy I took the time to make it suit myself. Good luck on the project.

I made a post but maybe u have an answer for me have u had the exhaust cover on and off many times is there a trick to putting it on everytime I have to wrestle with it and the grommets it's a bad design if u ask me

Honestly I've never had mine off. You don't need to for the protectors. Maybe you've something you're doin?
