After 3 years and 9000km of riding with them, here are my results:
- I've probably had to replace approximately 40-50 studs so far.
- Most of the replacing occured where there were double backers. The studs had snapped off.
- I have 2 holes in my track due to stud pull through. Both holes occured where I had mounted a single backer. No stud pull throughs occured where there was a double backer.
awsome info...thanks

GRIMM....
were you using tall nuts, just wondering if you were to use tall nuts if you would reduce the number of broken studs on the doubles??

Bent or broken studs along with pullouts usually mean there's not enough for the rider style-sled combination... I always go with the less is best option...

rancidjo, I didn't use tall nuts. I'd guess a taller nut would probably help.
The studs were pretty cheap, just over a $1 each. I'd be upset if the studs I were using were top of the line and they were snapping off, but not for the ones I did use.

studs hit cooler
On long tracks with cross coolers the studs will hit the cooler if you hit hard as the track will flex allowing the stud to touch the cooler.
