How many stud are you guys going with on the Nytro's? I was think 144 with double backers. Will that be enough? 1 per HP so that should be pretty much right on I think

For traction yes, but for durability no IMO. My experience with 1325 or longer studs is that they bend and break if less than 192.

1 per hp is normally fine, but these things launch hard and the low end torque is the X factor compared to an equal 2 stroke.

I think 144 is the right amount...and coincidentally the same number I put on.

I also had 144 on my rev 800 and never had a problem with 4000 miles on it.

I went with 48 double backers and 48 singles.

I try to stay away from singles just for piece of mind. I had 144 in my 800X last year and bent a few but the conditions weren't the best. I cant wait to ride this sled I havent been this excited over a sled in a long time!

Were they 1325 or longer studs though?

I went with 96 studs and all double metal backers. I had this pattern on my old nytro and had no problems with anything breaking. On my new nytro I did use tall nuts. the stud length is 1.325. 196 is way to many studs in my opinion, and I don't like studding on the outside belt of the track because of wear in the long run. The only reason I put the studs in is to stop in icy corners and on lakes where there is no snow and only ice. I don't like using singles either because they are likely to rip out of the track. I had 144 studs in my old Rev running 60 doubles and 24 singles. I didn't notice any difference between 96 and 144.

I ran 1.325 on both my rev and now the Nytro. I think a lot of problems people have is simply related to trail conditions.

120-1.325" Woody's Stainless Signature Series studs, round aluminum backers and aluminum big nuts is more than plenty for my FX Nytro RTX even w/ mods.

Hummm 1 stud per hp, well I guess I need a few more then, I run 192 in the turbo sled and 192 in the nytro. Approx 270 hp in the apex and 200 hp in the nytro.

In the past I've had a hard time getting it balanced with 120. I had vibration problems. Have you used this pattern before. I had 120 in doubles.

I've used 120 studs on a 121" track before and the sled hooked up very well. I had nothing to complain about. I used the single backers and not doubles.
