That is a true statement however, you have to consider lenght of the track and how many of the studs are actually acting as a foot print. I have over 2,000 hard miles on my 1.450" Woody's in the center and no indication of pull throughs.

But isn't the tipped up rails on the xtx supposed to act like a 121" sled?

I would try to get closer to 140ish studs. But thats just me and how I ride...on slippery tight twisty trails.

The "cornering like a 121" strategy by Yamaha is a marketing pitch to sell 144" for trail riders, no way the sleds corners like a 121" but more like a 136" with the 6deg. tipped up rails. Also, once you put 100 miles on an XTX, functionally the tipped up rails become more like a 3deg. due to 90% of the hyfax wear occur at the bend.
