What do you guys recommend for studs. Switched the Ripsaw for a 121 cobra track. Looking at installing 96 studs down the middle so it will come out on hard pack just like the Ripsaw. What size and where should I look to buy. Up in Canada studs are like gold in price!

144 Woody's megabytes 1.450. 96 is not enough even for the Cobra. You will have to add 1/4" thick by 1"wide, 4 foot in length from the back of the tunnel inward to allow for clearance. Make sure you change your gearing from 24 to 23 or 22, but if you don't care about top end, then put the 22 in it. Still good to 112-114 on the GPS and much quicker.
The stock tunnel protectors aren't enough....If you look at the cobra track it really is only a 1.25. Are you running this track presently, and how do you find it compares to the ripsaw on all conditions?

No, I am running a Ripsaw, but with my ripsaw I run 1.450, because 1.325 don't give enough traction. I also had to add some more protection to the tunnel protectors, because of the added length.

I'm running a freshly installed unstudded Cobra that I used to replace a Ripsaw - also not studded. Always felt the Ripsaw has too much side bite. Had to replace it to install extroverts anyway. I honestly didn't notice a lot of difference between them so far - only 200 miles. Cobra did very well on the groomed trails from just a seat of the pantsometer. Didn't notice a lot of difference in side bite either - but spent the weekend riding in exceptional conditions that may have had something to do with that. FWIW.

I noticed that the ripsaw bites better on hard trails and the cobra seems to work better with loose condtions. Didn't notice any loss on top end but it does carry more snow with it thus has to hurt more on the top! Far a weight the cobra was 1 lb heavier than the ripsaw. The reason I'm thinking about adding 96 picks is so that on the hard pack trails I would have the same traction as the oridinal ripsaw did.
