I pick up my new RX-1ER this Friday, and I am wanting to know whether I should Stud my track or not. I have heard the RX's don't hook-up, does studing the Rip Saw Track help or should I just stud for stopping.

Also, since I studded my last sled there has be alot of talk about studding just in the center of the track. I don't know the advantages and disadvantages of just studding down the middle. :?:

IMO.... studs and carbides are a must.. with the RX1 i would go 196 with a 121 track. then i would use a 8 inch carbide.. stoping on ice (priceless) being able to turn before u hit a tree (priceless)

Hook up with the finger track on the 03's were horrible, the Ripsaw is excellent. I had 192 in my Finger track and now I only have 126 in my 136 inch ripsaw and it hooks better. Obviously the ripsaw is that much better. Reason's for studding just up the middle is for durability (track is weaker on the edges) and better cornering (studs on the outside can make the sled push in the corners).

Cool, thanks for the info, guys.

I can't wait to take it out for a spin, bet my old sled doesn't even compare.

sorry but the out side studs are for turning.... and if u under stud a sled u will take the chance of hurting the track alot faster!!! and the key with studs is. when the condtion call for u to take it easy and not flog the sled do it.lol
