Im going with 144 studs on my new RX-1. I see a lot of you go with studs down the middle only. I have always had studs on the out side too, never had any problems. Do you down the middle guys do this for handling ? Or is it a durability thing with the rip saw track ? For me handling is secondary to getting a good hole shot. I need to get to 100 mph just as fast as possible with a air mod and clutch kit. It would seem to me with studs on the out side too, I would hook up better. So what do you guys think...thanks...Gary.

I stud mine down the middle only. My primary motivator is saftey.
For my needs I have found 144 in the middle to be a good balance of handling, acceleration and braking.

You dont have to run only in the middle.. most of us Warrior guys did it because it is a longer track and doesnt steer as well as the shorty!
If it were me id do the outside too on the standard rx!
The ripsaw is a awsome track and doesnt really need a ton of studs ,, 144 will be plenty!

Gary,
I studded the out side of my RX-1 and it was impossible to shake the rear end loose coming out of a turn when I wanted to. I found that when I studded up the middle only on my Warrior I could have some fun when I wanted to. Don't get me wrong, straight line hook up is great.

Dan,,,, I know that your WARRIOR would probably hook up better then my shorty RX-1 will. Do you think that maybe the 05 will handle better then the 03 did. Maybe that would give me a chance at good handling with out side studs. I know it is hard to tell with out knowing how the 05's handle....

Good question Gary, who knows what to expect from that Mono shock rear skid. But I still recommend studding for Icy conditions :ORC
