Prepping sled for one last trip to the UP and saw that my studs hit the heat exchanger fins. No coolant leaks (yet). Studs are 1.575" Woody's Gold Diggers. Track deflection is 1.70" at 20 lbs. Looks like this length of stud is too long unless I'm doing something wrong. Anyone else have this issue?

Tighten it up good and tight. I run that length stud with no issues. There's a video from Precision EFI that shows how to set it. Someone will post it I'm sure.

Thanks DMC. I remember saving this thread a while ago: https://ty4stroke.com/threads/chaincase-backlash.159097/ In that thread, jonlafon1 recommended 1-1.5" deflection. I guess I'll tighten this thing up. Don't need to be carving channels in my heat exchanger.
Additionally, I'll note that I re-torqued every one of my studs recently. After 160 miles, every stud needed 1/2 - 1 full turn to get back in spec.

I did the same thing yr 1 on my winder back in the fall of 16. Track has been super tight ever since with no issue. Thanks DMC. I run 1.625" Studboy Lake Racers with no tunnel protectors. Track tension set per Precision EFI video. I had this also even with the track tightened to spec. Only at high speeds of course. I could feel it happening, it would feed back through the chassis. Given that I could only feel it right after installing studs, I looked under and saw some knicks on the fins.Prepping sled for one last trip to the UP and saw that my studs hit the heat exchanger fins. It is surprising how far the track throws ahead of the drivers!
