the less studs you run the more stress you place on each stud. I used to run 192 in my SRX's. I went down to 168 for a while. Now I run 144. I used the Woodys double/single down the middle pattern. it works great. The one piece of advice i would give is skip the tall Nuts. I would rather see a Stud bend the see a stud pull through.

I ran the equivalent to 96 in my XTX (114) woody's SS all woody's double backers with tall nuts and it was a perfect balance, a little bite in the corner in and out and enough to get me going on ice, all well maintaining a nice "drift" in the long sweeping corners. I ride very aggressive and on sometimes snow lacking terrain and had 0 issues. Ride it first then make your decision.
