studs with rear exchanger

06 apex gt, would like to install rear exchanger and 96 studs down the middle, will i have a clearance problem, also, id like to install double backers only due to their strength, has anyone done this and anyone have a pattern to avoid the mono.

You will need to make heat exchanger protectors ~ do a search for tunnel protectors as there has been alot of Q & A on this topic.

Dealer put rear heat exchanger on my sled and I have 120 studs down the centre. They didn't put any protector on it. 2600 miles since done and so far no problems.

I believe it is more of an issue on the Attak/LTXs. I had issues with mine (search with me as author) but pretty sure model specific.

Protectors are only needed for 136 models. Factory rear heat exchanger for 121 models are located up in rear corner of tunnel just ahead of flap and out of the way of track studs.

I have 96 studs w/double backers (48) up the middle.
