A nother good spot is Alpine Wyo. was there a few times it was awesome there not to many people and is a great little town ride right from hotel and tog is a great place also was there a few times also more of a trail system then Alpine .. Alpine is more free ride good wright up in american snowmobiler

X2, Honey Hole for sure. Alpine has as pretty cool bar/restaurant/strip club/liquor store all under one roof.

Sweet, I'll have to check that place out. That is the one thing Cooke City needs is a strip bar. Although..... cooke costs us a hell of a lot less then Revy used to and I think the strip bar was the main reason for that. ;)!

"Dacincig Girls" are only on Fridays ;)!

Also check out Nxt Level Riding clinic by Dan Adams, pretty cool gig he has going on. LLC (Lincoln County Customs) is out of Alpine too and they have some of the best built nytros you will ever see, plus they will get you running again if you have any issues. For lodging stay at the Flying Saddle Resort, its newer and not to badly priced plus has a hot tub, pool, restaurant, bar, etc. O ya the terrain in Alpine is one of a kinda, breath taking....
You are right it is breath taking

We were out there the 5th-12th of Feb. It was a little cold but the quantity of snow was perfect. I am torn where to go in 2012. My one buddy likes the Divide so it may be back of North if he can make it. The snow was so good I never got more than 20 miles away from Albany every day.[/quote]

i was out there Jan 30- Feb 3, and i would say that you missed the real cold weather. BC we had the actual temp hit -40 F and we had two days of riding in -20 F weather. BUt thatnk god there was no wind and the sun was out a little bit.

Yeah I already get the emails from Next Level that would be a great experience, I'd like to do that for sure. We are waiting for the year that only a few guys can make the trip and then we plan to do something like that.

Thanks for the info I think Alpine will be on the list for sure.

Actually Alaska is on my list for sure. Obviously that will be a fly in and rent trip, but in the end we want to be able to say we hit all the best sledding destinations in North America and we won't be able to say that without hitting AK at some point! ;)!

The bold is a pretty awesome goal to shoot for. Add Whistler / Pemberton to your list. I rode on the Pemberton ice cap a few winters ago and it is an amazing place. It's a nice trip to fly into Vancouver, head up to Whistler, and then hang out, ski if you want, and of course, sled.

Yup you bet, that's our sledding bucket list haha!! Whistler is on the list for sure another spot we'll have to fly to. I've read a little on Pemberton but we haven't looked into there much.

I was supposed to be in whistler for Christmas but instead my rear end went out in my rig. Just about as fun though right? I'm bummed I didn't get out there.

We were up at our cabin over New Years - we always have a couple of big bonfires with the slash piles from cleaning up the property - this year we had to keep our open beers next to the fire to keep them from freezing!

pics from that weekend -

Tkuss and I are looking into NLRC for next year, going to wait to talk to Dan Adam again at haydays about it first then plan something out for 2012.

Not going to lie, I LOVE my XP but I can't seem to get this ticking out of my head when I am riding it. I just popped for the extra 3 year warranty on it for when she blows so I will be riding it at least two more years. Have the summer list started for the XP which includes some skinz air frame boards and some more OFT stuff... well talk.

Destination for this season still up in the air. I'm looking into some of the suggestions and any others would be appreciated. ;)!

Those that ride west yellowstone....

...based on the description and the map it looks like you take the Big Sky Trail north from town to get to the backcountry riding.... is that correct??

That is one way. Only problem our group has found with riding to big sky from West Yellowstone is you waste too much fuel on the trail.
Two solutions we have found; one is get a few 5 gallon gas can (depending on the number of people in your group), hide them where the groom trail ends then ride all day and fill up on the way out. The other way is trailer up to where 287 heads west and take it a few miles till you find a plowed turn off. (earthquake historic site) Park there and ride north, you can get to both big sky and red canyon from this place.

I guess there is a third way that involves crossing the lake, I have not gone that way but I heard its not a good way to go when the ice is soft as it gets really slushy and you can get stuck in the slush.
