Ok guys, I know winter is still a little ways away, but I am starting to think snow! I picked up an 08 Nytro 40th in the spring with a 144" extension and 2" challenger track. All I read about is how horrible the stock Nytro skis are. I do a mix of riding, I would say 40% Ditch banging, 30% off trail, 30% trail. So far I see the most cost effective options as changing to the MTX ski bottoms, Ski-Doo Pilots, or SLP Powder Pros.

If you have any experience with similar setups and riding, please let me know what you would recommend.

Thanks!

I have slydog powder hounds and I really enjoy them both on and off the trail they work great on my SC apex. I have had simmons, C&A razors, and pilots and the slydogs do everything well. They may not turn as easy as the pilots, or carve as hard as the razors on a trail but they float better then other two can think of and the degradation in snow can effect those factors as much as the ski.

I am happy with the slydogs, if I had to rate trail handling, powder handling, and everything in between I would give them a 8 or 9 in every category. Plus they are light as heck to.
