Summary of what we think we know about 2011 Apex

Anyone know if they are making a 136"?

If they make something longer than 128"(Highly likely) it would most probably be 144. 136 is too close to 128.

Personally I would use the 141" 3" pitch track Cat uses on the Crossfires - Very light, and fantastic traction. But instead of the Cobra Pattern/Construction make it a 1.25" Ripsaw or 1" Hacksaw for top end. Depends on what your preference is.

I just saw Tom's rode report and pics. Is it me or does it look like the ski stance is wider? Everything else sounds awesome. I'm sure the machine's that they demoed were under clutched. They might have been de-tuned some too. That is not unusual for demo rides. Don't want to give the competition too much to go on. Be nice if the tank was slightly bigger. How about adjustable handlebars? I'm nit-picking. Now if only we can get all these sleds to come down in price. (I guess that would never happen!)

They could make it 190 hp and people will want more. Horse power is not a issue but I really like what the 2011 has to offer.

I really wish they would have made the hood area look more different than the current apex! rest of sled looks great.

Updated List

128" Track on the Shorty
EPS - Adds about 2-3 lbs and definitely worth it
Possibly II Gen R1 Motor, or 1052 Watercraft Based - we know it has 4 pipes
1052 is Dry Sump like the Apex
Peak power is at 10,200 RPM - same as 1052 - which has 160hp
It has either EXUP(Variable Exhaust) or YCCI(variable intake), you can see a servo motor in the new pictures
I'd be very surprised if it isn't the 1052 - Behold the Genesis 160
Spindles 1-2" Shorter - Combined with Possibly Lower Motor Meaning COG could be 2-3" Lower - helps explain much better handling
New Seat that is 2" Higher - Looks a lot lighter as well
New Ski Design
Nice Size trunk - Holds a lot of stuff
Handle Bar Warmers that work
Webbed Deltabox seen - Delta Box III?
Lighter Spindles - Shorter and Relieved
Mysterious wine on starting - Possibly Boosted?

Possibly 20 lbs lighter?

A lot of people including me have reported there was a prominent wine when the sled was started. I can see Yammie turning the boost to 0 for the pre-release test rides just so we focused on the chasis. For if it has boost come Tuesday that's all anyone will focus on, the changes that have been to the chasis will be lost, it will just be how fast is it?

Low likelihood of this, but I could see them having the new sled with both boosted and unboosted motors, as the boosted one will probably be very big coin, so they still have an 150 Hp Apex as well.

If it's boosted I don't see it being anything less than 180. It's so easy to make HP with boost, and they need to one up Cat, and possibly Doo if they slap a Super on the 1200, which is the real threat they are facing.

4 into 1 Exup exhaust

Maybe this new sled will have a speedo that is within 15 mph of the acutal speed. Would be great if they could get it within 5mph... Just throwing more out there for the wish list... lol...

they never make the speed-o accurate, they want you to think your going faster than you are

can anyone tell me where 7 when we can see the announcements of the 2011 sled lineup?

So last minute guess.

Is it a Gen II R1 Motor with Exup
A 1052 Watercraft based engine and Exup
or Someting with some boost.

Although I know it highly unlikely I can't get that Whirring sound out of my mind.

I'm Wishfully thinking it's got boost...

Any other last minute calls?
