I just talked to the guy's at Mountain performance and they have a rx-1 sitting there with a prototype supercharger on it.They havn't tested it on the mountains yet but they've dyno'd it with 5lb's boost at 200hp.They hope to run over 17lb's boost eventually for 350+hp.They are very excited about this and they say the main benefits over a turbo is it will cost you less$$$ and instant throttle response as well.If everything goes well they hope to have them out this season.

I talked to the shop that built the supercharger for Mtn Performance and they said they've seen 380 hp out of that there supercharger. The game is getting more & more interesting every day!

Sounds promising. The HP numnbers don't sound right though. Super chargers take HP to make Hp and 200 on 5 pounds is more then any turbo charger on the market is making.

Not a rip just an opinion.

I Tried to order a turbo from them yesterday , they said they didn't have any , sold the last one the day before . They also told me they were working on a supercharger .But didn't offer any more details .

superchargers will also burn more fuel, something to concider when you ride in the mountains.

supercharger

200 hp. at 5 psi! no way it is not possible :drink:
like JTSSRX says, a blower requires hp. to drive it ! a turbo uses
free energy (thermal & velocity). here in quebec there is a guy
that put together a really nice looking blower kit on is rx-1
really worked hard on it but it's no match against a turbo :(
I estimated (seat of pants) that a blower would steel about 25 hp
to give 15 psi depending on it's drive ratio &efficiency, so if a turbo
gives you 150 hp at 15 psi, a blower is giving you 125! ... :?
Blowers will give more low rpm boost but may be harder to
hook the track on take offs :( .

Thats what I thought...but still sounds interesting.I guess we will have to wait and see!

The first kit offered when Mack was pursuing it was advertised at 180hp on 6 pounds. THe super charger is a cool idea. You could be quicker on less boost becuase you have no lag. More HP doesn't alway equal a victory.

Another thing to the supercharger on a RX-1,I did some research on this last winter, and superchargers don't work well on an engine spins as high the RX-1.Although it might work on the Vector.

my friend got a supercharger on is rx-1 , and he try to beat me all the year... i let the trottle and wait for i'm , when is on my side i i open full trottle and good by bodies, too much at start,
