Hi guys just want some feed back on using a supercharger on a 08 ltx gt apex. How much more top end or power do you get and do i need to clutch & gear it for the most inpact :yam:

My stage 1 apex hit 133mph and was still pulling when I ran out of fuel and lake. They add tons of power. Read up in the turbo/sc section everything you want to know.

Nothing will touch them if you in a area where its pretty much stock sleds.

you said 133 mph is that gps or deamometer? how is your stage 1 sc holding up & how much more fuel do go through? i am sc my apex this summer would like alot of back ground before taking the plunge. thanks for all your input. Oh another question does the sc pull from start to finish? :yam: :die

Depends on how much boost you run.

Stage 1 MPI on 6 ish lbs of boost on a 05 RX 1here. [I'm at sea level]

I get about 18 more MPH top end from the RX 1 than the stock Apex I also ride.

Soft pack snow 111 speedo Apex 131 speedo RX1. That would GPS or Radar about 100 and 118 mph respectively. Which is OK for soft snow and Deuce bars which slow them both down some.

Yes you have to clutch it.

My boosted RX 1 burns about the same amount of fuel as my stock Apex. About 16 mpg to a Canuck Gallon in good conditions.

I'll probably have more range on the blown RX 1 than I will have on the new SE I have coming. :o|

a air/fuel guage is a must i would also recomend boost and water temp, at 5 psi boost hp increase is 50 hp you need to run premum fuel with stock compression anny more boost and race fuel is required as for guages i would check out the clasifides section

Apex fuel MPG is a issue for me I get around 8-11 mpg depending on flipper position. A boosted RX1 is better on fuel once you get the carbs dialed in. For me the GEMS fuel controllers is outstanding for making the sled turn key and reliable however its just not advanced enough to make the finite adjustments I need to tweak the AF ratio everywhere on the power band to get say a consistant 13mpg.

One thing that would help would be a load sensitve BOV that at light loads crusing down the trail I could on vacumn at say 60-70mph vs being in 10 psi of boost (lots more fuel being wasted).

That said that is the ONLY drawback of the system on a apex. It is turn key reliable and mine I have the head shimmed for a 10:1 compression ratio and run 91 gas at 10-11 psi (shimmed head also hurts mpg slightly as well) and the power is insane. I have no doubt I could hit 140-150 mph on the dreameter how ever fast that is on the radar I dont know. Its FAST.

I'm devising a rear rack to hold an extra gallon of fuel and then I will last longer between fill ups then all the 800 revs I ride with, right now were within ounces of each other at fill up.

Do you guys run these SC's on trails, how trail friendly are these, do you vary boost commonly, how much work is it to adjust the boost?

Yes mine is all trails. Very freindly in fact they idle around like stock you dont even know you have a rocket till you get past 1/4 throttle then it lets you know LOL. I wish I could have a camera show my throttle position vs speed just cruising down the trail the throttle is barely cracked open and I thought it would be hard to drive but its very easy. Coming into towns and pulling up to gas stations is no different then stock.

On a SC its a lot of work to adjust boost that is a good and bad good because once you have it set up for a certain psi, you clutch it, you dial in the fuel etc and its always perfect no need to ever look at the gauges.

Bad because you cannot change it for a trail side race although its VERY rare you would ever lose anyway with a set up like mine unless you run into a real racer and they dont drive sleds on 1000 mile back pack trips. Mine does everything well and everything fast and more importantly everything reliable.

ONLY beef and it is small is 8-11mpg I have some plans to get it to 13ish mpg then it will be perfect.

Apex Riser Block?

hey riceburner.... you my summer neighbor???

I believe he is. I was hoping to run into you again after Southeastern two weeks ago to find out what size riser that you have installed on your 40th Apex. I am the guy who was on the red Vector. I am in the process of buying an Apex and it looked as if you had a riser on???
