Hi,

I have a 08 Apex 162" with mcx turbo kit. (t16 turbo)
I have now upgraded with the bigger fuel pump, and increasing boost to 1 bar (14psi)

Running stock gearing, helix and spring.
Challenger extreme 2.5" track.

I have bought the supertip kit with 60g baseweight.
Anyone have experience what is the best setup for the supertip with these mods?

Bjørn

He sendt me a setup in norwegian, so thats probably why.

But here is the main setup

60 gram base
2x7 gram in heel
2x4 gram in middle
2-1-3gram in tip

Blue-white-blue eller blue-brown-blue yamaha primary spring

on a 3 ramp clutch?

14 psi boost?

I don't think that is gonna hold rpm off rev limiter.

4 ramps with same weight would make sense thought

Sent you a pm;-)

Why don't you share that suggestion with everyone?
People who search in the future way want to know this info too.

No BIG secrets ;)! It is just that it takes a lot longer for me to type in English than Norwegian on Iphone :tg:

And he has the same setup as me (mcx 310 kit with a 16t turbo) and ride same conditions (Norway)

I just gave him the following base setup. That still needs adjustment to personal preferences and riding style.

Primary:
Yamaha blue-white-blue or blue-brown-blue spring
14,5mm rollers

Supertip 60 gram base weight:
2x7 gram in heel
2x4 gram in midle
2x1-3 gram in tip

14 grams (2 tungsten in heel) can be to much with a rear mount. So it has to be adjusted if turbo lag is to bad

Secondary:
Run a straight cut helix between 45-51 degrees. This is personal preferance what degree cut you want. A shockwave helix is a good solution, but is hard on slides in secondary clutch, but very adjustable to different snow conditions and fine tuning off rpm.

EPI purple Artic Cat spring set at 0-1 or 0-2. Reason for the low twist is because it is off set compeared to stock Yamaha seconday springs

For tuning removing 1gr. from tip will raise rpm with approx. 100 rpm. Adding 1gr. to tip will lower peak rpm with approx. 100 rpm. This is explained good in the install manual for the super tips

But this is just a base set up to get you going.

Boost on - ride safe!

PS! Turbomatt when are you going to share the rest of your custom turbo build? I have wet dream of a mcx with a impulse header. I am still waiting for the updated of your thread. Saw the video of the sled on youtube - looked awsome

Here is an other reason for the pm - I am not interested in getting into a tuning discussion ;)!

Peace - TT is out of the thread
