Supertips are the bomb with Turbo

It really depends on how you like your boost to come on and what kind of engagement you like. I set mine up with the 2 tungstens at the tip, 2 washers in the middle and 2 washers in the heel for 11psi. This is probably good for around 12-13 psi as the top end rpms are around 10100-10300 at 11 psi. It spools really fast with this setup without hitting the rev limiter. I had tried using the tungstens in the center but the engagement dropped and it didn't spool as quick. This is on an Apex with an MCX kit. Blu grn blu primary with the small rollers and a silver secondary with stock helix. 3800 rpm engagement.

I had used heel clickers on previous Polaris turbo setups and I like these better because they are easier to tune. Thank you Turbo Tim for turning me on to these.

Ted,
Sounds good... I've also had some good luck with the ST's on asphalt this past summer. They do pull good.

Supercharger low boost (5): 1300 ft elevation
Tungsten & 4 in the heel
0-mid
2-tip

Supercharger high boost (10): 1300 ft elevation
2-tungsten
0-mid
4-tip

Front Mount turbo (10): 4000 ft elevation
2-tungsten
4-mid
0-tip

These were all Apex's.

Allen,
you got an 60g narrow pin ST's laying arround... I'm in need of '1' of them...

Thanks,

What primary spring is recommended with these ST's? I have the dalton green in it now with
1 Tungston in the heel + 3 washers
6 washers in the mid
3 in the tip

Seems pretty good but I question running such a stiff spring and still shifting the clutches out and getting enough grab any suggestions?

Pay attention to your front clutch surface it should have a good reflection all the way up from the bottom to the top, like chrome, if you have grey area the belt is slipping in that area, and you need to add weight accordingly.

I like that spring, weight will overcome the spring don't worry.

Ted.

Thanks Ted thats what I was wondering mine is grey all the way up right now same for the secondary. If i need to increase RPM is it better to remove tip weight or mid weight? Also what belts are you guys running stock or the dayco? I smoked 2 dayco's this weekend one blew so bad it tore the side cover off my sled. I find the dayco I loose about 300 rpm up to Im guessing more belt grab then the harder yami belt.

Never sand your clutches, Green Scotch bright pad only, then clean paper towels with Acetone, go back to a Yamaha belt they are by far the best.
You will be able to pull my clutching with Yamaha belt and It will live many passes.

More HP you need Harder belt to handle the power.

Thank you Sir as always for helping me out. I think I should just send ya 20 bucks and keep ya on the phone for 10 mins to sort me out :o|

Bit the bullet and bought Ulmers kit it comes highly recommended and I'll be testing it a bit for him at my higer boost level and desired use.
