Just recieved your rings today and was wondering if you have determined if they should be installed 1/2 inch out or 1/4 inch out. Also if I understand right, the turned down part of the ring should slide into the filter until it bottoms out against the machined lip and not over the hole ring. I think this is what you intended but was not sure because I had no trouble putting my filters on the rings and it sounds like everyone else did. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. Just noticed another thread that says the filters fit flush with the back side of the ring. Does this mean that the turned down part is just to ease the start of the filters onto the rings but then should be pushed all the way back. Thanks

Yes. Mount the rings to the filters first. Install them until the back edge of the rings fits flush to the flange of each filter. The smaller OD goes into the filters first.
