RX Warrior
I just picked up a 04 RX Warrior the other night and I noticed when I backed it into my garage that it would squat down enough that the mudflap got caught on the track in my driveway. The rear spring is almost all the way stiff. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but I'd like some advice on adjusting it better. I'm wondering if its set up with too much weight transfer and maybe all I need to do is adjust the transfer rods. I've never touched them on any other Yamaha's I've had so I'm not sure. Am I looking in the right direction ?

See how it rides before you go adjusting anything. If a sled hasn't been ridden for awhile, the track stiffens up, and the clips will rust. That makes it harder for the track to spin, so it will tend to suck the backend down when you back up.

I would've never thought of that, thanx I'll give it a try. This machine has almost 9000 miles on it and it looks like it has non rebuildable steel shocks could they be weak. I have a nice set of aluminum skocks from my Viper skid, but its 121" not 136". Would those shocks fit right? I was thinking I could get them revalved for the weight of the Warrior and get the proper springs if they would fit. I think that would be a nice low cost upgrade if it would work.

If the shocks have a small brass screw and nut by one of the mounting eyes, they are rebuildable. Does the 04 have the pro action or the mono skid.

Pioneer performance sells a rebuildable rear shock with a heavy duty spring meant for the Warrior. Definitely helped my ride when I owned the Warrior.

Pro action... When I ran the pro action skid I re- built my shocks every two years
......it helped a great deal....and any help with the pro action is great.

It does have a pro action skid. I'll check and see if it has that screw. The shock body is black, but I did notice it has a dampening or rebound adjuster screw on the shock. So maybe it is rebuildable, usually they wouldn't have those adjustments on the shock if they weren't rebuildable. If it is then I could send it to pioneer and get it serviced and maybe get a heavier spring for 2 up riding.
