Mine haven't broke, but they are quite worn. Wear obviously occurs where the springs slide back & forth, but also the bore of the slider is weak. There are two O-rings in there, too. I took everything apart this Fall and piled some grease in the bore. Next year, I'll be replacing them for sure...

Undecided, why do you always sound so excited to hear thay someone else is having some kind of issue with a sled part on their Yamaha? :|

Had mine replaced on warranty during the summer. Took the skid apart for inspection in the spring as I always do and found that the plastic was worn badly between the "O" rings. The aluminum axles were also worn badly. There was no grease on these parts. The area exposed to snow, ice & water was hardly worn at all. I beleave that it was not lubricated during assembly at factory. Took the parts to my dealer and asked for replacements. The dealer said they would show them to Yamaha and let me know what their discision was. At the end of september they told me they were covered & gave me the new parts. I greased them and installed them and will check again in the spring. I average about 3000 KM per season.

I was not in a good mood that day #$%&* and was giving Oak Hill a jab. Oak is either a Yami dealer on the payroll (like AFJ is on the Poo payroll over on the Ultimate board) or a 13 yr old kid writing about Dad's Vector. Please reread what Oak said in response to the guys problem....then I said "of course you dont have any problems".

It gets a little old around here when people like me say things arent right and basically you're told you're nuts. Others have mentioned the harsh ride and are pretty much told they're crazy. I've ridden over 60,000 miles in 20+ yrs and I know what a good and bad ride is like.

I'm sorry but if this is a good skid by Yami standards, then they still have a long way to go!

2more - you've been very helpful and I apprecite it! :D

to everybody else - I'm disapointed in the sled (ride quality only) but cant afford to either M10 it or dump it right now. Sometimes I use this board to vent, and am sorry if I offended anyone.

Sorry didn't mean to start anything I was just wondering if I should order extra's and keep them on hand or if It was just a fluke thing.By the way I have between 850 miles and 900 miles on them and about 150 miles probaly was flat ground no bump's.

When I first picked up my sled it had NO GREASE WHATSOEVER ANYWHERE! I have ALWAYS greased my sleds after each and every ride, or if I am away immediately upon my return. I also wash the sleds THOROUGHLY after every ride. I truly believe htat keeping things immaculate and excessively lubricated leads to much longer life, less hassles and more enjoyable times.

Just my preventative maintenance. Some would call it excessive, but I hate breaking down or fixing during the riding season.
