Ok I need some help I am currently sitting in my motel room in St>Micheal Que, just got back from a 160 mile ride. I have a question about setting up the rear skid, the rest of the sled is great however the rear is way to stiff, anyone have any suggestions on how to soften the rear a little without messing up the handelin? Sled is an 09 XTX. Thanks

Turn the clicker to full soft, counterclockwise. Then adjust up if you bottom.

Also set your torsion springs to the softest setting also, if your under 200lbs than that'll be a good start as well as your clicker settings. Too much torsion spring load might kick back at you.

Are you referring to the clicker on the rear shock? My torsion springs are already full soft. The sled has pilots (shimmed w/the bergstrom set up 6" triple points) handles awesome, tried a 2010 MXZX 1200 renegade today and even the owner thought my XTX out handled his MXZX. But we both agreed that his sled has lighter steering (but a push) and his rear skid was way smoother, I am pretty sure I can tune out the hard ride without changing the handling. My steering is not to heavy for me I like the confidence the steering inspires. I appreciate the help, will try the clicker adjustment right now, my buddy and I are going go for a short ride. I will check this post again in about 1.5 hours Thanks again. :yam:

Recently switched my torsions from Med to Soft. 100X better ride. I weight ~200lbs with gear. before was just chatterig over the bumps, now, actually flexes. Trasnfer rods 1 turn down from full.

You can pull rear strapdown to center hole good for the trails your on .Also take some preload on coilspring on rear skid will lihgt up steering but will settle rear down . Key to nytro adjustments is do little turns at a time go slow or you can goto far. I had an 08 rtx and ran both straps in middle holes about a 1/4 to 1/2 inchin coil for preload and rebound inboth shocks at middle compression 2 clicks above middle torsion blocks at hard weight was 250 with gear ran on flat trails great.

xtx has no rear strap and is a completely different ball game

Yes the rear shock clicker. Play with it. One click can make a big difference. To many guys never adjust their setups, they leave them on the "stock" settings. Ride it again without any adjustment, then at a stop sign turn one click counterclockwise. You will feel a difference. Then play with it till you get it right. Everyone has their own preferences on feel of a suspension. The only way you will know what you like is to play with it.
