I need help setting up my stock nytro 2010 mtx 162 with fox shocks. I have 65 lbs in the ski shocks, 125 in the front track shock, and 150 In the rear. The sled seems to spin out on take off instead of just going. Feels like I'm pushing the snow with the skis instead of floating on the snow. I weigh 160 with out gear on. Any suspension setup help would be nice. Thanks

shoot me PM with your email and I'll send you a set-up chart that will help with some base lines to start. I think your shocks are too stiff (too much air)...... just my .02
I believe I set-up one last year for someone around your weight..... try out 50 psi front shocks, 45 psi centre shock and 105 rear shock.

Yea i would say that with your weight you are not getting much weight transfer in the back. I have a read over and over again that 60-65 PSI in the front ski shocks is a sweet spot for the Fox Floats on a Nytro. Center skid shock i currently run 85 PSI and i am 260 lbs geared up. People run the center skid shock high to lesson the heavy steering on the nytro's but they sacrifice weight transfer and deep snow performance when they do that. its a trade off you just have to manage for yourself. I run 140 PSI in the rear shock. So i would run what STUBB suggests and start at 105 in the rear. Add air at 5 lbs at a time until you reach the desired effect. Remember to set the air pressures in the shocks with the skid and/or skies in the air or you will get the wrong air pressure readings and remember that the air is doing the job of the coil spring on a conventional shock however the air is a lot more progressive then a spring

Regarding the spinning of the track on take off, have you looked into a different primary spring with 14.5mm rollers? It would drop your engagement so you don't spin so much.

I have the maverick track & Im not to impressed with it. I have been thinking about shortening up my mix to a 144 in track. I got a great deal on this nytro. I tend to go to the mountains a couple times a year & most of my riding is on trails until I find some powder.

To increase the life of my mavrick track I cut it down to 2" vs the stock 2.5". I put 200 miles on this weekend mostly trail & was very impressed, well as much as you can with the mavrick. The track was new last year & was starting to chunk out & rip due to some trail riding. Just a heads for you & possibly something to try.

I was reading forums last night about people that have cut their tracks down and have had good results. 2" track sounds like a perfect size lug for a cross over. The sled would probably hook up a lot better with out folding over. Thanks for the advice.

Depending on track length a 1-3/4" back county would work as well. Put more is always better in the deep. Once I'm done ripping this track up I have 2.6" Power Claw with Avid drives going on my sled. Best of Luck!

Reminder a technical bulletin on this site speaks to adding air with the sled weight off the ground. Also putting air in at 5lb increments. More air is not always better. I just did the air yesterday with this method. Who knew putting air into a shock could be so technical.

Do you have a lot of ski pressure with those settings?
I might give those settings a try to see how they feel.

When I first took the sled out I had the suspension set to what ever the book called for stock. Which I think is 60 psi maybe. The ride was so bad that I was counting the turns in my head to get back to the trailer and trying to pick the straightest route. I thought I was going to break the handle bars it was that bad of turning. Quickly jumped on the wifes sled and completely different sled all together. After a quick post and search on here I was told to try 90 psi , I also checked the wife's sled and hers was set to 85 psi. That made all the difference in the world to how the sled steered and felt. I could now lift the ski's off the snow, turns were easy. I went a little more psi on the front skid shock over the wife's sled because I got a extra 100 pounds on her.
