I am 6 foot 3 and 280lbs got all my suspension springs to the max still find I bottom on more frequently than I like. Anybody have an inexpensive idea other than losing weight?
Still haven't jacked up the rear clicker at all.

Make sure your FRA is set on MAXIMUM, and crank up your clicker as much as needed. If that still not enough, you should consider at *least* a harder spring, which should cost less than $100, or better than that, a harder shock.
Thanks L.B
Thank you
That was the direction I was going to go. Nice to get some confirmation

Mikkos I am about 265 270 without gear and I do not bottom out at all. I would make sure you have gone the right way with your adjustments. I have FRA to medium and rear sping on 3rd or 4th click from softest I only bottom on the deep dips coming off a hill into the dip.

I'm somewhere around 275 without gear, and I hardly ever bottom any more. I went with the FRA at firmest (lowest position) and my spring at the softest. I have some other adjustments to play with, such as the control rods and straps, but I'm very close to having the optimum setup. I ride pretty hard, and only bottom out once in a while if I hit just the right G-out type dip at a high speed.

Jim,
Isn't the ride very hard at that set up though?

If you're going under 35, it can be a little harsh, over 35 and it soaks everything up. If you read the thread I started about suspension tuning, it explains why this setup works well.

I'm 245 and my setup isn't working either but that's on a shorty. I had the dealer make the adjustment so they couldn't harp on me anymore for tinkering :roll: , so far it's my biggest complaint about the sled:
Center shock preload = max
FRA = MAX (Harddest)
Rear shock preload = max
Rear control rod gap = 70/30
WHAM...BAM...POW...I need to see my chiropractor on Monday :evil:
I'm going to get a different shock and spring setup for my weight and riding style www.pioneermotorsprt.com good pricing on Ohlins shocks their. Hopefully before this weekend because the trails get trashed fast durring I-500. But seeing that you have a clicker, I think you could get by with a stiffer spring.
Good luck!

My dealer under-cut Pioneer on a slightly used (installed, but not raced - too stiff for oval racing) Ohlins piggy-back rear shock. I plan on installing it tonight.
