I have searched and read millions of posts and still scratching my head :o| I need some help when it comes to the rear suspesion. Im going to do some testing this weekend.

First topic is limiter straps:

I know letting the limiters all the way out will increase weight transfer and reduce ski pressure but will also increase the track appraoch angle. My nytro has alot of ski pressure so when i intsalled the intense track I let the straps all the way out and was trenching like crazy in the deep stuff (worse then ripsaw, straps were in 3rd hole before). So if i suck my limiter straps in i will lower center of gravity and reduce track approach angle which should help get on op of the powder instead of plowing through it?

Center spring preload:

I see lots of people have there spring preload really soft only a few threads showing, I know this will add ski pressure. Will this cause less transfer? Be better for high speed bump stability?
Wouldnt you want alot of preload in center schck in to reduce ski pressure?

In theroy dont you want your skid to be as parrell to the floor as possible?

I am a farily aggressive ditch banger and go off trail as much as possible.

Thanks for your Help!

I will look at my sled and notes tonight and share my set up as it looks like we ride about the same and both have the rtx. But if you go off trail as much as you can I would call mountaintech and get the full skid plate ASAP.

Im gonna purchae one next year. I ran the razrors but found them very aggresive, but mabe my suspension set up was way off. I bought some curves but not sure if i like them yet, I weigh around 200lbs are you in that ball park?

I appreciate your help!

I'm around the 235 mark depending on how many good food stops there are on the trail lol. But I love the razors. I have 9 in shapers with no studs. But ice heard the curves are really good.

mcamzr, did you get a chance to look at your settings. Im heading up north this weekedn to go riding. They got 18" of snow on monday!

I have the front strap all the way loose, rear strap is one hole from all the way loose, center shock has about 6 or 7 threads showing, and rear springs on Med. I have floats up front set at 50lbs. The sled has C&A razors with 9in shaper bars with the 1.25 ripsaw no studs. Also the oft steering relocater with flat bars and a 5in riser. I'm 6.2 about 235 and stand 90% of the time and ride groomed and whooped out trailed in Michigan. I have stock clutching as without studs it works well and I unlike most it seems like the engine breaking when I let off. I haven't messed with it this year as it has handled great at over 90mph with one hand on the bars and took corners and woops great. Wait. I did start out a ride with 55psi in the front and went to 50 and it and a huge difference for the better. I have never bottomed the front out either.

I did go out on Saturday! I have my limiter straps set up with the rear all the way out and the front sucked in one. I lowered the psi in my fox schoks from 65 to 58. Lowering the psi and taking off the shaper bars and installing 8' rounds made a dramatic difference in steering effort (much easier to turn). I did mess with the skid shocks by adjusting the rebound and compression settings but need to adjust them more since im getting some bouncing and bottoming out still.

Snowmobiling Saturday was one of the worst trips ever. There was so much snow that the groomers could not groom the trails since there was so much snow. Also the trail signs were underneath the snow so we had no idea where we were going. We got lost about 10 times since it was a new area for us, but somehow we managed to put on 156 miles of ungroomed trails.

I some how managed to get my nytro stuck horrible in 4' ft of snow and it took me and my buddy 45mins to get it out. Any time the nytro is in deep snow the back end sinks instantly. Im very easy on the throttle but the weight of the sled and lack of track just makes it trench like crazy.

Im kind of upset i went with 121 I wish yamaha made the nytro in a 136 would be much better off trail yet still good on trail.
