Pull rear suspension out of 06 apex gt with 1400 miles, every wheel bearing was junk. The kicker is you can't replace the bearing you have to buy a new wheel, are there any good replacement wheels out there.
Listed below are some idler wheels that I installed last year on the Apex and RS Venture. The Apex was alot easier to do than the Venture because of the different suspensions. Dennis Kirk is where i purchased mine from. 1,700 miles and they look like new. I did remove the wheels last week when I was bored. I noticed they weren't rotating real smooth so I removed the bearing seal and added some low temp grease to the bearings and reinstalled the seal then put them back on the sled. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=
Before I ever rode my sled, I read about all the idler wheel problems so I did the following:
(1.) I got a Pioneer Performance Hy Fax saver kit
(2.) I got Yamaha accessory spoked wheels SMA-8F838-01
(3.) I replaced the Taiwan idler wheel bearings with premium 6005-2RS
The Pioneer kit extends the wheels dowm 2.5 mm like having oversize 135 mm wheels. Using the oversize wheels with the stock mounts may cause the slide rails to crack being that the stock mounts only use 1 bolt. The Pioneer mounts use 2 bolts and are much stroger. I had to modify the mounts in order to clear the smaller inset of the accessory wheels as they were designed for the stock junk wheels. Only 600 miles but ever thing is fine.
