Suspension.

I've seen their sleds run before and they always seem to do well. I can't say I every paid too much attention to what was under them. From the pics it looks like you would need some kind of shock or something for the rear arm...or am I missing something?

Alot of guys are running witrh out rear shocks even in firecat skids and there laying down 1.3 60ft times. Some guys put solid struts in their wahls skids too and take out the shock.

yes, I have seen that. they do get some very good 60 times. I believe the rule book states a minimum for rear travel, so this wouldn't exactly be legal. You're basically turning your rear arm to a solid link. On the firecat skids, you're also running the front shock which would give quite a bit more room for lift on the front end compared to these springs. I don't know if those skids are set to do that though or if the limiters are cranked down.

If that's what they're running I assume it works well. Might be worth a phone call to find out what kind of 60s they're getting. Also, doesn't look like it would be too hard to build on your own if you have the wheels.

That looks strikingly similar to what a Firecat rear skid looks like when you eliminate the rear scissors, shock, and torsion springs. Those front springs look very similar to the Proline from 2-3 years ago and the ECP skid. It probably works well, it's no different than any of the other aftermarket rear skids, you simply have to learn to tune it! With the rear being solid it will actually make the suspension rails "springy" allowing them to flex just enough to pass the 1" of legal travel (who has had their rear skid travel actually checked?) and it allows just enough flex for weight transfer too. It would be a slight concern on low traction tracks though, but just my opinion!

I taked to a guy that deals with them he said it's just like his f cat skid, and he said there skids work real well.
