Just wondering if there are any pros or cons to breaking in a new motor with synthetic oil or should you break it in with convensional oil?
Thanks

Don't use synthetic oil to break it in, it is to slippery and won't let the rings seal completely.

you guys running mobile 1 0w30,you should realize the zinc/phos levels in those automotive oils is very low. good discussion here:

Broke mine sleds in on the factory oil, then went with Yamalube 4S 0w-30 everafter. I run it because of availability and price, also because the shop manual what me too LOL

We brake in a Niki'ed cylinder on synthetic because the rings don't really need to cut the cylinder walls. On iron bores,we brake in with conventional oil to allow the rings to cut the tips off the cross-hatch.Then we switch to synthetic oil fortified with zinc if possible
