Has anyone put a taller than stock windshield on their Attak or Apex. I love the looks of the stock one but the wind hits me in the chest. Any pictures would be appreciated.

Have one on order, Looks like a few more weeks even for an aftermarket one. I have seen pics of the mid shileld that has the more conventional shape. Looks ok

Here are a couple of pics of my sled, did not take the pics with the windscreen in mind put may give you an idea. I did not ride with the stock one put this shield seemed fine. No wind under the helmet, I'm 5 10.

I put the medimun chrome on. Look and work great.

I put the mid height shield on my RTX, works good &wind hits me on top of my visor. (MX helmet) I am 6 foot.

Which specific shield is on blue attak? Do you have the part number. Comparison to Rage doesn't help me picture the Attak shields height. Thanks, Studdog

Pullinfront... on your blue sled is that the w/s SMA-8FT96-21BK Medium 14.25"?? If so then are the stock Attak windshields "Low" 12.5"?? and lastly are the flares also larger for more hand-wind protection?....Thanks

Bodacious, the stock Apex and Attak's come with a low ( 12.5" ) shield, I installed a mid ( 14.25" ) shield. I don't remember witch one I got, but it worked good. I was able to feel alittle wind on the tops of my shoulders in some riding postions. I'm 5' 10" tall so anyone taller may want the tall windscreen, I may end up with one if I think the wind protection is not up to real cold weather protection.

I'm 6'3" and I ordered the tall shield today, but I think I'm going to call my dealer and have them order the extra tall shield instead. Same question Bodacious had---Do the taller shields have larger flares for had protection? That's half the reason why I want a larger shield.

The mid still has the flares, I have not seen a large screen.

I have the 8FT96. it's taller and wider by 1.75-2,0 inches. It's a big improvement over stock attak shield. I haven't seen the tall or extra tall. I don't think they are shipped yet. This may be BS,but i heard they had quality problems with some of the taller shields. Perhaps flexing at speed. IMHO, the 8FT96 should be good for all but the taller riders. Also the marginal handwarmer performance will be aided because of wider flare covering the ends fo the bars better. studdog

Thanks for the Stk size info, lookin' in the accessory book isn't very clear. If I measure my Stk w/s from the back side it measured almost 13" and when I measured the length from the headlight pod to the top (from the front side it measured about 14.25". Thanks again... I think Im straight on that one.
