anybody that likes a tank bag as I do, this is a nytro bag. 2 slits in the panels and fits like a glove. I undo one side to gas up.

Did you use a dremmel to cut the slit?

Can you still fill the bag full since it has to be able to come off to access the gas cap?

Ms

yes, a dremmel. had thoughts of possibly a fastner of sorts to do less permanent damage, but I keep my stuff forever and have no issue hacking my own stuff. and yes it gets filled with 6 to 12 bottles. always had one on my apex and nytro. in my opinion, it is a must

Instead of a slot I installed 2 snaps per side, just unsnap to fuel or remove.

A little more work to get your side panels off by the looks, but how does it sffect your ability to crawl up onto the tank when riding hard, and hanging off the sled to corner hard?

I find that big vacant space on most sleds to be wasted space. nearing 23000 on my nytro with the bag. I have the steering relocated and a riser on that and yes, I ride right up against it, but never had a problem shifting my weight. That bag has some wear as do my snowpants, but that's a lot of riding. also could have to do some with needing to loose 40 or 50 lbs, but that would require not drinking beer and then I wouldn't need the bag. On the winder its even less obstructive and I have the steering as far forward and up as it can go. Yes I rub right against it, but keeps you warm and keeps me planted. All who have riden my sleds like it. I have never had any luck with rear storage or extra gas. Always goes bye bye at some point. I like the blended look also. look at the modern doos, reminds me of their step through wheeler they had. maybe some people need that space, but I don't. personally if they aren't using that space for a bigger tank, then I would like to see some sort of large built in glove box in that erea, could even put the fuel fill inside it. I even considered buying the dx just for the rear hard storage, glad I didn't

It did not occur to me to try to adapt my apex tank bag to my winder So I bought an arctic cat tank bag which fits pretty good. I don’t find it too much of a hassle to do anything including removing panels or getting gas. I do sit right up against it but I have no problem with leaning on the sled as I don’t find I have to lean very much to get good handling with the Winder.

Great info brother, thanks for sharing with a pic,ya I could stand to lose at least 20-30 lbs now too lol and I always loved my big tank bags on my Apes.

as far as the apex bag goes. its tiny and hardly attached, had to have apex bag sewn solid with fuel fill inside, just to make it usable. nytro fits 10 times better, solid feel and much larger. didn't see much better offered from cat. bought a doo one and couldn't see it working even with sewing, put that one on my buddies mxzero and he carries bonus beers
