Has anyone out there used a TEAM roller bearing clutch in their RS sled? I would really like to run a roller bearing clutch but I don't know what angle helix, or spring to use? I would like to keep it all as close to stock as possible and just gain the benefits of a roller bearing clutch. Any info. would be great. ;)!

Thanks

Put a 50/36F or a straight 36 degree helix with a red/gray spring in it. This is for the vector and the rx1

I am not so sure that the vector can pull a 50/36 helix. I am currently tuning my Rage while using a Rocket Roller and mine wont pull a 52/40 with a green or pink spring.

It will pull the 50/34. It pulls 8200rpms at takeoff shifts out at 8500 and climbs rpm at 100mph. the 36 angle willhold the rpms lower on takeoff. It has a overev of 300rpms at takeoff with the straight angles and the taller angle will keep the revs better at low end. Myself I like the straight angles better than the progressive ones. I like the 34 but it overevs a bit on low end.

The clutching "experts" at Maxximun. say the motor should run 8500 -8550. Currently mine pulls about 8100 droping to 7500 when it hooks up. I do not have enough snow down south here to do a long run but have seen 8500 on ice with the track spinning over 110. The reason I say it was spinning, is I hit a section of gravel on the road where the ice had melted and the track hooked up and made the sled do some sudden change of direction. LaLaLa When that happened, that little bird wispered into my ear, slow down a$$hole. I made a quick decesion that "he" was right. I ended my high end testing at that point.
What are you using for clutch weights? I am currently using the stock weights.

:bling michael :exc: compliments of Michael!! he loves those things!! :exc: :bling :die LaLaLa :exc: :exc: :exc:

I run a straight adjustable helix on the vector. With the team and stock weights you should run a shallower cutonthe helix. If you try the higher angles you have to lighten the weights to around 55 to 58 grams depending on what you run .theadjustable helix one turn is equal to 4 degrees and increases or decreases the rpms by 400.

I hear you on the weights. I was "talking" to Turk about this and he said the same thing. I picked up a set of stock weights with no rivits in them and As Turk suggested, I was going to put them in and try it like that but I sent a email to Maxximum thinking they may have had some testing experiance but it looks like I am going to be doing it for them. Not that it is a problem, I dont mind doing the testing. I just wish I had some snow to do it.
Where are you in Michigan? I am a little N/E of South Haven.
