Thinking about a teather cord for my wifes 2007 Phaxer FX (turned into a 144" Mtn Lite). Lots of friends ride this thing, some with little experience and I would like the sled to get shut down should they fall off and send it down over some hill.................

Anyone have a brand that worked and was easy to install and had a somewhat attractive mounting location?

Ulmer had the only one I could find that worked. It mounts on the panel around the gas cap instead of the bars, which I like a lot better. I don't know if it's on the website, but I can confirm it does work for Yammies.

I would stay away from the push on cap style of switch. Like the ones ski-doo uses. They have a tendency of falling off on there own when they get wet or a little worn. I like the clip style a lot better. They will not come undone unlees you really pull on them . Pro-design lanyard kill switch is what I have used in the past.

Pingle also makes some nice ones.Normally closed is what we need if going to stock kill switch wires.

The clip style are used on PWC and jet boats - I don't believe that they are too expensive and should be easy enough to wire in line with the ignition / kill switch.

I used an Arctic Cat "Normally closed" tether switch on my wifes Phazer for sno-x this year and it worked great, much better than many aftermarket switches which easily disconnect with little or no pressure. It can just be wired into your factory kill switch. Costs about $24 retail i think.

So I need a normally closed switch?
