I need to replace the rear hand warmer covers on my Venture Lite. This is the part number:
Cover
8ET-24796-00-00
http://www.yamahapart.com/oemparts/a/yam/5003c6a6f8700212fc842d8b/seat
They are sort of a foam thing that goes over the bar. I don't see how they would slide over the bar very easily.

Yours damaged? When I added warmers to mine, which didn't come with them, I used aftermarket ones for hook style front bars and just cut off the end. I used these:
http://www.rsiracing.com/8-RUBBER-GRIP_p_23.html
They are made with a soft grippy type rubber.
To remove the old ones, they usually have to be cut.

One of them is pushed down and I can't get it back up to where it needs to be. The heating element is exposed.

I thought the element was inside the tube. You might be able to cut it off with a hooked knife carefully. I found the RSI rubber one was fairly easy to slide on.

Element wraps around tube and is covered by the foam. I think the new part from Yamaha costs $25 each.

I'd carefully cut off the old ones and either get the RSI ones or there is also wrap type but I don't know how good those are. If the more expensive Yamaha ones failed, why replace them with the same ones?

Where have you seen the wrap kind? I don't even know what to search for to find that. I've seen stuff like that to wrap around a gun stock to kill the glare....

Also what is the technique to get on RSI style grip over the heating elements tightly so that it doesn't move once installed? Is it a shrink type thing where you apply heat?

This the wrap type:

The grips are just slid over the handlebar and warmer. You sorta have to work it, push and pull then use grip glue at each end. They're just rubber.

With the help of some Ajax for lubricant, I was able to shift the one piece of foam cover that had shifted down back into place. Next step is to install the aftermarket relay for the rear warmers to see if we get some nice heat.

That circuit is already controlled by a relay so they already get full 12V. They're not like the fronts that are controlled by PWM. If they are dual element types, you could rewire them to have both low and high elements working at the same time. If you look at the wiring schematics, you should see what I mean.

Bought the aftermarket relay. That will solve the problem.

I wasn't aware of a relay kit for our sleds. Let us know how it works out and where you got it.

Got the warmers back on with the aftermarket relay and they heat up real nice and fast.
