I was interested in doing the temp gauge install as described in the "tech section" of this site, but wondering if the depth of the gauge will interefere with the mirror support bracket that runs across the dash behind the speedo (I put Yamaha mirror kit on last season). Looks like it's close just by eye-balling. Wondering if anyone has similar set up that made it work. Thanks!

A sugestion would be to use a gauge pod?

Yeah, I guess that would work too and appreciate the suggestion. First choice would be to flush-mount on the dash next to the meter, but if I hear from others that there definitely is a clearance problem that is the direction I'll have to go.

You can do the flush mount but add a piece of ABS pipe under the gauge ring on top of the dash. This would make the face of the gauge even with the speedo / tach face and give you your clearence underneath.

I would opt for the surface mount temp guage from Ulmer...

This is what I did, worked perfectly.

Nice install!! I almost like that better than the flush mount - seems to compliment the meter a bit more. Think this is the way I'll go. Appreciate all the input guys!

OK, I've got the Autometer gauge installed and just wondering how you guys secured the gauge...it's a pretty snug fit the way it is, had to "walk it" back and forth while pushing down on the gauge face. Is this good enough or would you recommend some silicone or something. The bracket that comes with the gauge won't work because of the weird cut through the hood.
By the way, the flush mount method worked just fine with the mirror install - no interference with the bracket behind the dash.

I little bit of silicone should do the trick and it would be removable if needed.
