Well the APE is back together. I started out to do a slider change and ended up getting way more in depth. By the time I was done the exhaust donuts were changed, installed a new 1-1/4" Predator track, 2 new chain case bearings, new chain case cover bearing, new drive bearing on the PTO side, a marginal snow kit, nose bag, replaced stripped and missing body and panel fasteners and even stripped down the hood and added custom decals. (Side note: the guy I bought this sled from had it
up. I think it has more than the 1700 miles it shows on the odometer. Is that possible and how? )
I just want to thank everyone who answered my posts during my adventure (no matter how dumb or seemingly basic my questions were)as well as all those who have posted advice and help in the past. The sticky FAQ section is a great help and the members here are TOP NOTCH.
Also thanks to my head mechanic Whitey, who even though he's a Polaris guy let's me use his garage, tools, and does most of the thinking.
Thanks to my local dearler Tomkins Yamaha in Emo Ontario ( google Emo...lol) They may have trouble getting keys but they got me on the snow. Thanks to Jerry D and Kerbs for the advice and Bill (from dootalk)as well for offering to help.
Sorry for the long post but I didn't want to just milk information from here and run. Every biy of help was greatly apreciated.
OH Ya, the sled sounds SOOO GOOOD now..wow. And it flat out rocks....just like you guys.
Thats all..I'm going riding.
