2900 miles on mine and no real negative comments. Wish it was 50lbs lighter and a little more rider forward. I'm 160+lbs and keep the floats at 55-65lbs with all the rear susp. adjustment done by way of the clicker center shock. There is lots of adjustability in the susp. for rider weight and riding style.
No slider wear problems. The hand warmers aren't great but its a cold sled anyway.

i don't know what the deal is with these warmers! they only get a little warm even on the highest setting! the hand warmers on my 01sxr & 98 vmax would get so hot they would melt my gloves! i don't want them to get that hot, but a little warmer would be nice! i guess i could buy thicker gloves, but i like the feel of thinner ones! i heard some guys using spray foam in the bars! i might have to give this a try!

On the hand warmer issue. All you need to do is get your hands out of the wind. I just proved this at the TY Houghton ride last weekend. I have the 07 bar update done on mine. They get just as warm as my old Viper and SXr's did. But your hands are always out in the wind. And yes, I have the taller windshield, with the hand guards. On Friday afternoon, it was getting colder, and my hands were starting to cool down, with the heaters on high. So I put on my gauntlets and WOW those bars were burning my hands to the point where it hurt them at 2 bars on the guage. I have gloves that I can take the inner part out, so the gloves are thinner which is how I like to ride because it makes it easier to hold onto the bars. But with the thin gloves on these bars were almost too hot on low.
One other point, I tested this thin glove theory on my Viper a couple of years ago. Those bars were always smoking hot. But on one trip, I had bought some new Yamaha Team gloves. These things were soo thick, I felt like I couldn't grip the bars very well, and I also couldn't feel the hand warmers hardly at all. At one point I stopped and took my glove off to see if my hand warmers had quit working. No they were really hot, but I couldn't feel much heat thru those thick gloves, and my hands started to get cold. I went back to my old crappy thin gloves, and my hands warmed right up. Never wore them again.
On Saturday at the TY ride last weekend, Swiss Sledder was riding with only his gauntlets on, no gloves at all, and it was like 15 degrees out.
In conclusion, tall seats and tall handlebars=cold hands without proper protection. I'll never complain about my bars again!

I agree it must be your warmers. I can't go without gloves on the lowest of settings.

Right on the money. Over 3300 miles on an 05 Vector. Changed slides at 1000 miles (the first owner did, as he thought they were worn). They looked the same after a few hundred and haven't worn since. I even mounted 3 little wheel sets along the slides, but have long since taken them off.rik said:Last year first 150 kms and my slides looked like they were done. I replaced them and in another 200 kms they looked like they were done again. Seems they wear to a scary thin amount then stop wearing. I added the fix powersports wheels behind the front idlers and ahead of the rear idlers and no more slide wear (although at that point the slides were worn to almost nothing). I'm going to change my slides before my first ride this year and see how they wear with the wheel kit added.
