Yamaha Nytro xtx 2010
I had had install the GFORCE DIVISION NYTRO CHARGER on my xtx nytro 2010 last year, I paid 750$ for the installation by certified mechanics ( I call them certified mechanics because they are the manufacturer and also a Yamaha dealer at the same time ), so it is normal to hope for a good installation.

here is my story about it
they install the full hindle exeaust and the nytro charger, at the same time tey put on the auxiliary heat exchanger that I brought from mountaintech. Instalation completed everything seams fine, dyno time.

sled on the dyno they are adjusting the GEM controller on the dyno, they adjust it to the richest setting and they were still reading that the mixture need to be more rich....hummmmmm I said to myself. Then they clutched the sled on the dyno. The owner of that dealer and manufacturer of this product was telling me about how useless a power commander is and that people whom sell them just rip off people (that is his opinion). So I took my sled pay the man and went home six hours away from there.

result: engine is doing backfire and has a lot of hesitation and smell gasoline even more than a 2 stroke, and the sled was drinking it full tank of gasoline in just 80 kilometter instead of 180 killometters.
VERRY DECEIVING !
After arguing with the dealer they finaly accept reviewing their jobs saying that if it is not their fault I will have to pay the bill, I then ask them about my 12 hours trip ( both way ) and gasoline, it is the second time after all, they said not to push my luck. (I had to put the oem exeaust back because of cops) At the dealer I told them about the exeaust that I have to put back stock and that I have notice some black powder on the side of the exaust gasket on the head before switching it back to stock and ask them if this could have been the issue of the backfire and the near impossibility for them to tune the engine? They said no, it is not related with that part of the engine........I said to my self ok, so it is not related but they put a o2 sensor in the exeaust to tune it, oh well I am probably a moron trying to think by myself since they have some world record in sled racing. They put it back on the dyno, they tried to tune it for hours and hours about 5, when they deliver, they admitted that a technical problem with the previous o2 probe was preventing them from adjusting properly the engine....when I look at the o2 probe, it shure did not look like a recent one ! they deliver it and did not charge me for that work, as they did put on five hours in it. the engine was hot and running fine there was no snow there to ride it, so I put it on the trailer and went home.

result: engine is sluggish, no backfire but a lot of hesitation, exaust seams loud, but stil I was able to hold from 0 to 150 km/h with my friends artic cat f 1000 so it seams that I may have been a little to much critic, so I finish the seasons like that and the sled was doing 140 kilometter a tank, it was at least between stock and the first time tuning.

More than deceive this time but realy frustrated

I disassembled my sled with my friend to do a head porting, an exeaust, and instal a pcv and autotune that I have already put a post for that, and I have discovered some interesting fact about the awesome installation and tuning job previously done.
1- the inlet tube of cylinder number 3........the hose clamp was loose, and by looking you could see the rust on the screw that show that it had never been tighter than it was, so verdict is they forgot it, wow a two time dyno setup with computer and technician that are calling the others incompetent....well I will let you judge this one.
2- on the side of the airbox is a plastic pipe with a hose, the pipe was unplugged because they did not put the hose clamp on it, there was not even a trace of any retaining device on it...like new. Lets not forget even if it is only 2 psi that it is a boost application.....they are good, they have world record.....they are an authorized Yamaha dealer..... Probably I have vision or I am hallucinating stuff lets not forget that they are profesionals.
3-the engine head at cylinder number 3, had all around it exeaust gasket the black powder.....hummmm noisy exaust, sluggy engine, fuel smell while running, but let us remember the famous quote they have told me I have notice some black powder on the side of the exaust gasket on the head before switching it back to stock and ask them if this could have been the issue of the backfire and the near impossibility for them to tune the engine? They said no quote" it is not related with that part of the engine" Oh well, I probably am a criminal and a fraud specialist that does not know #*$&@ about mechanics and sleds.....they have a dealership and a manufacturing company right?
4- the nytro charger's flaws that I notice and corrected while doing the job previously done 2 time by them, I remove the fexible hose and replace it with a steel tube, anyone in turbo or supercharger knows that a ribed hose like found on motocross fork are not ideal good flowing candidate. then in the airbox itself there was a rib of plastic (overstock when you unmold) that haven't been remove and was jamming 1/3 of the inlet of the airbox.

well that is my story, please comment and let me know what do you think of this and how would you call those guys?
Try to guess the place lol, if there is a lot of interest I could make a pol, lol

It is hard to find good shops it seems. I choose to do the work myself if at all possible. With the great help found on this forum and dealing with reputable suppliers most jobs can be tackled if you have time and are willing to do the research. That being said I understand your frustration, it sucks paying and expecting a job well done only to come up short.

Ya sounds pretty typical. Stuff like this made me figure out how to work on stuff myself. Save a ton of money and know its done right the first time. Ive seen many hack jobs from supposedly reputable shops/dealers. From what I hear, the PCV with auto tune works quite well, so should be good once you get it all together.

This is exactly why I like doing my own work, if I mess it up I only have myself to blame and its a learning experience. Hope you get the sled running

Hi Lee i brought thé bundle uses from a ty member from Saskatchewan.

The police do note tolerate after market ecaust in quebec. Your exaust was awesome but i Did note have other choice than tout build a hybrid (oem\hindle) exaust l not as good as the real thing but it is prety close i would say about 4 hp less.

I stil have the header and the mufler in one piece the centre tube Was use with my oem headers

Like others said, doing it yourself is usually the best be if you can feel up to the task

Did you keep the OEM headers with our muffler or the Hindle header with OEM muffler?

Lee Hindle

My sled is fix
the exaust head porting pc with ulmer map works great.
I will buy a psi gage to test the nytrocharger.
i definatlly need a proper clutching setup because the one on the sled is as crapy as the instalation describe above

Lee
i kept the oem headers, cut a part of the juction to be ables to connect the center pipe of the hindle (the part with the o2 sensor) then i took a oem muffler. I opened it and made my one plumbing base on the size or my hindle mufler. I have a p cv and a ulmer map the air intake is boost
