Hi All,
I need some advice from you long timers. The Big Bear 400 comes stock with 25" Mud-Lites and I am pretty satisfied with them. What I was wondering is, would a set of STi alloy rims with 26" Mud Lites buy me anything in terms of improved performance. I like the idea of a LITTLE more ground clearance but I am not interested in Lift kits, axle mods, clutch kits etc. (at least not right now) Also I do not want to alter my rotating mass and gearing enough to cause future problems. The T & W kit is $625 from my local dealer and of course they would look good but I'm more interested in the pro's and con's of gains vs. long term $$$. The Dealer says NO PROBLEM but, well, you know...
We ride mostly in the Southeast mud.
Help me out experts with some real rider pro's and cons.

I like the mud lites, good all around tire that's not to aggressive. I don't think your gaining much as far as performance with the 26". You only have a 400 turning those sneakers so don't get to aggressive.

Bigger heavier tires will take away some power. It is a question of how important is 1/2 inch of added clearance. First gear is fairly low on your quad so the power issue will probably be in the higher gears. It is your money and your call.
