Ok, here is the thing guys. I enjoy my rx1 mountain that has been converted to a rider forward as much as possible. But, I really like the looks/ ergos of the viper. I'm just not convinced it will have quite enough power to make me truly happy. Sidewinder isn't in the budget.

The backstory: I don't need 120mph, I do like lots of grunt 0-80. Current sled runs with or faster than most 800 2 strokes up to around 80. Then they slowly can pull away a bit. It will hold the skis off snow up to 60ish on the speedo. Rx1 mountain, 151x2" track, heavily modded. Airbox, carbs jetted, heavy hitters etc. I would estimate 80/20 off trail/ 2 track style riding. Maybe even closer to 90/10.

There is no doubt that I would like the ride. The question is would it have enough power 0-80 to make me smile? If so, what model would be best for me? Xtx mtx???

Idk if the viper will fulfill your needs.

Plenty of torque low and mid range...they start falling on their faces around 80-100mph

Stock viper will pull hard up to 80 and level off on loose snow and top out around 90-95. Stock clutching isn't the greatest. After clutching my viper I can pull hard up to 90-95 in most all trail conditions before it starts to level off an top out right around 98-100 mph.

Will it keep the front light with aftermarket skis to keep the front up in the deeper snow??? Would I be better starting with the mtx and widening front or go with like the xtx and stretch it out if I want more track??? For most of my riding I really like the 1.75/2" lug height. I don't need studs in my sled. I can ride slower on the trail to get to the fun riding... :)

Falling flat after 80 is no big deal really. 90 percent of my riding is like 20-70mph anyway. I like to launch hard when it's time to play in an open area more than go fast up high.

Thanks for the input so far guys!
