Not to beat the dead horse here but I came across a great deal on a 1.6 ice cobra in a 121. So now my question is. After everyone raving about how great the 128 is on this sled is it that much of a difference to spend the extra on a new 128 track plus the 145 for rail extensions or 230ish on a relocate? Just wondering for a 90+% trail rider will the 128make THAT much of a difference to justify the extra $500 ish dollars?? Thanks again and sorry I'm suck a procrastinator lol.

I can't tell you if it is worth it or not. I never rode my sled or any Nytro for that matter enough time to make a real opinion when the suspension is in the stock posistion. What I can tell you is that I can ride this thing like my old SXR and that front end stays flat!! I do not have the inside ski lift like everyone complained about with the stock Nytro. There has to be a reason that the Yamaha CC race team moved the suspension back! Do you think it might be handaling? Now I'm trying to find the cash to rake the front end with a mountain Tech 43+2 kit! Then a OFT relocate,WRP seat, Grizz gusset and oilight bushings! Where do we find the funds.....hmmm!

You don't need rail extensions if you go with the star relocation kit ($130 Canadian) and if you got a smoking deal on the track hold onto it and sell it in the fall. I love my 128- takes the bumps so much better and is a million times better on lake with slush and loose snow. This is the only mod you are missing from your sled

I'm not sure way you'd want a 1.6" cobra for 90% trail riding. If you are looking for trail performance spend the $130 for the relocate and stick whatever track you want on it. With the 10% off trail you'll see improvement there also. Going with just a 4" rail extension to accommodate the 128" track doesn't improve performance near as much as the 4" relocate.
My thought on the 1.6 was this right here. Where I ride in the U.P. On MI the trails are always loose snow and lots or loose/sugar in the corners and by the end of the day 2ft moguls everywhere. A lot of people I talk to up the are seeing a lot more traction with a 1.5 track on the trail conditions we have. And I thought it would help up the 10% off trail a bit. Now with the rip it digs to the ground and then goes. Then I thought I don't run studs (doesn't fit my style not do I like the risk of tossing one) so the Ice cobra would be nice to try.

I run a 129" 1.6 ice cobra, Im 90% trail rider, and I freaking love it. And do the skid relocation, man it is so much better.
Did you notice any less transfer with the relocate? Also I know the relocate is worlds better on flat trails but how about on wooped out 2ft mogul trails? I think I'm just going to go 128 for the extra cashI run a 129" 1.6 ice cobra, Im 90% trail rider, and I freaking love it. And do the skid relocation, man it is so much better.

But do you think you would have been happy with just a 121" ice cobra without a relocate? How does that track work for you on hard pack and icy conditions?

Oh, it works way better, I also had my shocks done by Hygear and a dual rate spring installed. I had 2 nytros up untill a few weeks ago, 1 stock 121" and my sled which had the relocate done. so I could swap with my wife when out riding. It is a clear difference in the bumps and handling dept. IMO the nytro is just too short which leads to a poor handling machine..

No way, As I said I had 2 nytros, the shorty had a stock ripsaw 1.25 and then when I did the relocate I took off my 1.5 snow X track and put it on the shorty. The 1.6 track was an improvement in all conditions, last week I rode the ice trails on the hill, they were hard as a rock, my sled just hooded up and took off. I just got my wife a poo 600 pro S switchback with the 1.3 cobra, a 1.6 ice cobra is going on it over the summer. I really love this track. Also I do run dura flex scratchers and I put on a skinz big boy snowflap as I have been fighting temp issues pretty much since I have had the sled. I usually ride early in the morning so the trails are almost always hard packed for me, like solid as a rock..

Rigidone. Did you ever run your sled with the stock ripsaw, 1.25 with it studded ? And if so you like the ice cobra better ? And what kind for pipe is that ,? And are the sound cops on your case ? Sorry 4 all the questions thanks

I have the ripsaw 2 studded down the middle and that thing hooks up like crazy. I took out the transfer blocks on my sled. I can pick up the skis whenever I want, but doesn't go crazy high which is nice. I've been thinking of that 1.6 ice ripper (my brother is getting one for his xtx) but I've been super impressed with ripsaw 2- I ride 60% on trail 30% lake 10% off trail- I would def buy another one for my style of riding, but the pre-studded tracks are nice

My other sled had the stock rip saw not studded, Im just not a big fan of studs, I know they do hook up better than the pre-studded tracks, but i'm just not a fan of traditional studs.. And The exhaust it an Excell motorsports ultra lite system, it's a header and silencer. No issues with the law, I dont ride like an idiot braaap'n everywhere I go, I can ride it quite or I can ride it loud. I have been running his exhaust since 08 on all my sleds, never a ticket..

Okay thanks, looking to do some upgrades on the sled . On second thought I
Probably shouldn't I put the star kit and mountain kit on , and the snow conditions weren't to good this year.
