I noticed over at TracksUSA that they offer a package that includes 121 - 136 rail extensions as well as a 1.5 Free Ride track for $525. This interests me alot seeing how I'm usually with someone who has an RMK who likes to powder ride, but since I have never replaced a track before I have a few questions.

How long would you say it takes to install the rail extensions and the new track?

Does anyone know how much the 121x14x1.5 free ride track costs?

Will my Phazer have to have any other work done to it after installing a bigger track?

For those who use this track now on their Phazer, how big is the difference in performance?

took me an afternoon to swap in my 136x1.75 track and extensions....i bought a used 15 inch wide track and cut it down...saved me about 350bucks....i changed gearing and clutching too...search the phazer forum and you will find all the answers/advice you need....

That is a good deal for $525!!!!

I emailed TracksUSA about the Freeride price and they told me it was $500. And thats just for the 121. So $525 for the 136 with the rail extensions seems like a real good deal.

I just ordered the 121 Freeride from Portyamaha.com. They had it on sale for $420. I will be installing it this weekend, can't wait. From everyone on here has said, it makes it a whole new sled.

I too am also wondering if anything else should be done after installing the track (ie. clutching) or if a stock setup is fine.

Free Ride Kicks A$$

All I have to say is the 121" Freeride on my Phazer FX is above and beyond what I expected. Here in West Central MN/Easter ND, I didn't consider anything longer than the 121". This season we have had an abnormal amount of snow and this track is working out great!

It not only pounds the sled through super deep snow, it also hooks up on the hardpacked trails super well. It's about as good as you can get without studs.

They say that gearing and clutching will help, but my stock configuration with this track is sweet. There is so much low end torque that the additional hook up added the missing piece. I may have lost some on top, but since moving away from my SRX 700, my riding has changed too. I can do so much more with this sled. I really didn't need to do triple digits across the lake. I would rather rock any other sled 0-60 in the bumps!

The combination of track and tunnel closure has almost eliminated the ice buildup in the tunnel and floorboards. Don't forget the low-snow wheels too. Check out his link or my attached photos (if it works)

Good luck!
