Found a dealer that has a leftover 07 136" for 8200 bucks. That seems like a great price when the 08 is 12,500.
What realistically can I see for my 05? Where is the best place to look to get pricing? I looked in the classifieds here but only saw a few 03's. Have not checked E Pay yet.
Sled has the EVAC kit, clutched, and new track with anti ratchet drive cogs. 06 Mono skid update. (greaseable)
5500 miles on the sled. Well maintained Clutches gone thru before every trip and all skid bearings fresh EVERY season. Very well maintained sled and it runs like a raped ape. Literally 8-10 sleds ahead of all my cat buddies out of the hole...no joke. And that includes a stock F1000.
Do you guys think the 07 price is good? Dealer really not interested in trade in and said I am better off selling on my own. I love the 05 and think the carb sleds are a better sled to mod...but I have not seen whats going on on the EFI side of things so I really can't say.
Can you guiys give me some feedback?
And if anyone is interested in a nice 05 PM me.
Thanks

Although I live in Maine, I think I can relate to your dilema. I had an 05 RX-1 shorty with 06 updates, but also added 07 Nytro seat, and risers and a new track. Sled had 9k miles with extended 5yr. warranty and was in mint condition. I sold it in March of 07 for $4600. As the saying goes, it's only worth what you can get.
Found a used 06 Apex this fall with only 1100 miles and although I love the sled had mixed feelings on first couple rides. Colder than my 05, and harder on gas, but I have to admit that the different seating ( I've got a bad back) made the switch worth it for me, as I can jump on this Apex and lay over 500 miles in a day!!!
Although you didn't state if the Attack your looking at is a regular ER or a GT, I think the price they quoted you is decent. If it is a GT, then the price they quoted you is very good.
Hope my opinions help!!

Hard to say on pricing. The dealers around here still have 05s and with this darn warm weather they are problably going to have most of them next year.

Yeah the price on that attack was for the GT. Thats why I raised my eyebrows...
I love my 05, but everyone seems to be going rider forward. I still don't have enough time on one to like it yet. I rode a F1000 last week for a while. I just can't get used to the position. I feel like I am going to blow every turn...but I have to say...It did not tip even though every time I got into a turn I swear it was going to.
Mikeb:
Yeah I just saw a brand new 05 (my exact sled) for 6K. I may just run mine for a while. We'll see.
Anyone else sell one or selling one? (2005)

Yeah but personally with all the things I have read I would have to buy an 03 or 04 for dirt cheap. Plus that skid is not the best out there. 05 at least solved the oil burning issues and has the Mono in it. I really like the sled and it runs incredible. I dust just about everything including an F1000, but I just figured if I can get into a leftover 07 136" GT for 3K I would do it! Problem is I would be starting all over with that sled because I know it's not gonna run like this one!

Well if you want to move it, you will have to price it competitively. And that means taking a bath on the mods - they are worth 0$, according to Snowgoer.
I had excellent results with snowmobiletraderonline. I set my price below all other adds and it was gone within the week.
The Attak GT is a great sled, but I'm finding that I should have went with an RTX.

I think they are out of their minds at $5200; I wouldn't pay more than $3800 leftover or not.
My 04 burns no oil?

This may not be realitive as I'm from Ontario, but I just traded my 05 Warrior LE last week for an 06 Apex ER. My Warrior had a little over 6,000 beat miles on it, with very few mods (filter kit, clutch spring), but it did have a new track - no studs. The Yammie dealer gave me $5,000 for my trade and sold me the Apex for $7,300. The Apex is beyond mint with only 1,500 miles, so I think that I did well for $2,300 out the door. I notice a huge difference - throttle response, rider forward position and FI. Hope this helps a little...

I know I have to be competive on it.
Let me ask you....why would you rather have the shorty over the Attak? I was thinking of trying a 136 for my next sled.
Let me throw this at you guys. I found a guy selling a 06 RTX and bought the extended 4 year warranty so it's covered thru 2011. He wants 6500 for it. I have an 01 SRX that is in great shape. We talked on the phone and I could probabaly get the RTX for 4K plus my SRX. Then my 05 RX-1 would be my back up sled at that point. I love the SRX but I think if I can get 2500 for it I would concider the deal. I know thats about all I will see out of that sled anyhow. I just planned on running it into the ground. It has about 3500 miles on it.... it's clutched and I put a 1.25 Ripsaw in it with 144 down the middle. His Attak is bone stock with 144 pics and about the same mileage as my SRX.
What do you guys think?
I know the 07 RTX has a whole different skid right? I have been told the 06 will ride better but the 07 will handle the ruff stuff better. I tend to ride during the week only and so I don't see REALLY bad trails. I try not to ride on Saturday or Sunday.
Anything I will regret going with this 06 over an 07??? And what do you guys think of the SRX deal???
Thanks

If you weigh under 180lbs. and ride only groomed trails, the 06 RTX is a much better ride. I prefer the 121 over the 136 becuase I love doing wheelies over rolling knolls, washouts, etc., and this becomes harder as the track shortens. Also I think no matter which model you buy, they all have issues with the skids. Rails break, front pivot arms break, and on the GT's the wire that controls the shock breaks, which without warranty can become expensive. Therefore the 06 RTX with the extended warranty looks that more appetizing.
On a different note there's an old saying, "If you don't know what you want, you probably don't want anything." If your happy with your 05 and aren't crazy about rider forward, maybe you should just keep your 05. Also your SRX although ain't worth much has low miles and makes an excellent backup sled. Hope this helps!!!

Re: sled
I like the old saying...and maybe that's the case. I really can't say I am not crazy about rider forward because I really have not put on any serious miles on one. All I know is everyone I talk to say they can pull a 400 mile day and feel great. I can pull a 400 mile day but I do feel it. Nowhere like the old days...but I am tired. That could just be old age though...
I assume you meant the wheelies become harder as the track lengthens???
Yeah I agree that the 06 with the extended warranty is appealing...and it will cost me less UNLESS I get a decent buck for my 05 and then it's a wash if I buy the new 07 with the extended warranty. In that case it's a no brainer to go for the new sled.
On top of it, I found another RTX with less miles and the extended warranty. It's also a few hundred cheaper. But I would have to sell the 05 to do that deal as he is not interested in a trade of any kind.
Ever get to the point where you say screw it and just keep riding what you have? I am almost there...
Unless of course the guy who just asked about my RX is serious...and I sell it. Seems like every time I really get to know all the in's and out's of whatever sled I own, I sell the thing!
