i have a 2012 apex with a 290 mcx on it i can't keep the throttle body boots on the motor they keep popping off this is the fourth time they come off nothing broken and inner cooler is tied down

I took the little spacers out of the clamps and ground them down about a third of the way so the clamps would tighten down more. Don't think you wanna go too far though, might distort the boot and make it leak.

Allen Ulmer recommends removing the boots and cleaning them with soap and water, and then using a little Yamabond when installing them. If you don't have Yamabond, he said you can use the yellow 3M stuff. I would also clean the flanges on the motor and throttle bodies good with carb cleaner to make sure there is no oily residue on them making things slick.

Ive heard brake cleaner is the recommended cleaner. Thats what ive used to clean the carb flanges, silicon connectors and intercooler flanges

I've even heard of using hair spray to make the boots tacky. I haven't had problems with mine coming off so I haven't messed with it at all.

I took spacers right out....never had a problem after that...tried grinding them down didn't work.

i welded tabs to the side of the inter cooler (right at the header box and cooler tube) and made some hooks out of threaded rod and tied it down to the battery tray("hooked it around the bar". used some nylock nuts and just put enough tension to keep it in place. Seems when you turn the boost up the boost just aren't enough

I do something similar.

I have the same issue but mine pops off right away its like the angles of the intercooler are wrong. as soon as I tighten the front stays it pulls it off the head, It wants to be lifted in the front off the studs it seems like it will be okay like that, what do you guys think? Have not been able to run it yet, just want to be 100% ready when snow hits
