Timberwolf Problem

I have a 1995 Timberwolf 250 2x4 than I decided to get going again after letting it sit for the past 3 years. I have changed the plug, oil, pulled the bowl off the carb and sprayed the insides with carb cleaner.

BUT the ATV still won't idle(dies when I'm not on the gas), has a hesitation randomly (much better with the new plug), and backfires when I let off the gas(my exhaust has a huge hole in the top, would that cause this?).

I would check the Pilot jet if it won't idle. Something there is most likely plugged.
