After searching and reading what I could, I didn't come away with much on the best way to go about replacing the belly pan on an 07 Apex/Attak. The back edge of mine is bent (some may recall where I was looking for a solution), so I will be replacing the belly pan, and then using the metal insert from Travis at BOP, and then installing a Yamaha skid plate over everything.
As I look at the belly pan and the parts diagrams, it really doesn't look too bad, but I'm wondering if anyone has done this already and can add any tips. It's going to be a bit tough to work under there, so I plan on putting the skids up on truck ramps, to give me good room to move.
As I can tell so far, of course both side panels and bottom engine covers need to be removed. Beyond that, I would use some guidance on getting it out. Anything to be careful of? Tricks to get at some of the rivets that are hard to access...problems getting an air riveter in there to replace all the rivets, etc.
Anything is appreciated, as I thought this thread could help someone else in the future as well.
Thanks.
