I have a 2004 400 Kodiak and want to upgrade the tires. I only do a little mudding, some rock climbing and trails. Should I go to 26" mudlites or stay with 25'....what is the advantage of 26. Thanks.

i would actually7 reccomend the interco swamplites over the mudlites. i love mine. with going to 26" you will loose power when it is time to spin them in the mud if you do not have low range on your bike. 26" gives you more ground clearance and sometimes a bit more floatation in the mud. swamplites are a bit more money than mud lites but mine ride just as smooth as my stock tires when running the logging roads.
here is a pick of mine pulling out a moose through the terrain you describe right after i put the swamplites on mine. they saved us a lot of work as we only had to winch in 4 places. the owners of the bikes with stock tires admitted it would have taken a lot more work to get their bikes where we where.

Thanks Cameron...we can always count on you for a reply...will clutching help the power in the mud if i use the 26'...right now I am spinning my 25' on dry pavement...no traction at all.

yes clutching would help but i would try it stock 1st. from the sounds of it you might be ok as it. usually with larger tires you loose some bottom end grunt. i know i did but mine is a semi auto so i can feather it some if i need to.
might have to get together and go out for a ride this year. going bird hunting this weekend. let me know if this helps you out. could always try my tires if you have sra as they will not fit on independant rear.

thanks buddy....I may be going for birds as well this weekend.
I think I will try the 26' either swamplite or mudlite...my wife has the swamplite and they are really good.

Check out this Thread. I put 26 inchers on both my Kodiak and Bruin ATV's. They work awesome!

I absolutely love the tires and rims. They have held up very well all summer.
I do recommend fender flares though, because otherwise you will get lots of muds splashed onto you!!!!
