Hello to you all.
I bought a 1981 SRX 440E from US some years ago, but I forgot to ask for the title for the sled. The name of the person I bought it from on Ebay is long gone and forgotten.How can I get hold of the title? I have the import documents from when I payed tax of the sled here in Norway. I need the title to get the registration documents.

MAKE ONE UP.....
its an 81 sled that came from US with taxes paid and proper import ...they should be able to move it along unless you have a total a$$hole bureaucrat holding you up!

Here in the US the reg. was the title.....so there is no title if you have the reg. then you should be good.....

As 09nytro said, at least here in MI there isn't a title but just the registration card. To get the initial registration you had to present the manufacturer's certificate of origin but I'm guessing they shouldn't be real sticklers about that on a 30 year old sled.

I need the registration card with the name of the last owner of the sled. Is there a motor tax office in the US I can get the title from ?

i had a similar think happen to me with a vespa i bought on stealbay. i moved and needed to sell it but whos going to buy it with no registration. so i went to my provinces insurance company and had to get a form and fill it out and get it notarized to make it legal (could get 15 years if i lied about it) then i made up a bill of sale to a friend for a few hundred bucks and he can go get it registered and sell if for me or in your case sell it back to you. not sure if it will work in norway. it was a pain in the a$$ to get it figured out as most people had no clue what to do. hope this helps and makes sense

In New York state there is no title either, we use the registration as proof of ownership. And NY also has provisions to let you register in situations like this where the old paperwork can't be found.
