I am a little confused ! I have a 2004 warrior. For Summerization should I fog the engine or not. I received a copy of snowmobile magazine and they said it is not recommended to fog the motor. I need some clearification on this. Other than changing the oil, adding fuel stabilizer and dry gas to the fuel is there anything else I should do to the engine to protect it till next season. Any information would be great.
Thanks, Cape warrior

I think this is one of those tomato-tomaito; potato-poetato situations. I personaly don't do it, but I guess some might and do. I like to take the tank right off and drain it & then flush it. And drain all the fuel out of the carbs, as well as take them apart for a cleaning & inspection. Of course new oil & filter, loosen the tension on the track and take the weight off both front & back of the sled. I guess I just like to take everything apart and inspect it, clean it & reassemble it. It's a great time to do all of this anyways, good time to do any other mods you might have in mind. ![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

I don't beleive fogging is necessary for an engine stored during the summer months. Winter storage is a different story becuase of the cold, moist conditions its in. Unless the sled is being stored outside where it's more suseptible to the elements.
I myself simply use a fuel stabilizer and start it a few times during the layoff. Do let it warm up if you start it, otherwise condensation will form in the engine and exaust.

fog or not to fog
Not to burst anybody's bubble,I have an 03 and all i do is fill the tank with fresh gas and STABILE fuel stabilizer run it for ten minute's,and through out the rest of the year I start it twice a month to hear what I'am missing.
never had a problem with the RX1/R1 with this technique, the best part is the battery dosen't take a beatting over the summer on the RX1 as apposed to the bike battery in the winter.

I also Just Add some Stabilizer and Start it once or twice
I Just Add some Stabilizer and Start it once or twice Mostly so I can move it to cut the grass & Weeds around the sled
I try burn all the Old Fuel My First Day out before I top it up
but I have Had no problems.
I do Change My oil more frequently than required.
My Sled Sits outdoors Under a crappy old Hot tub Cover and by
the end of summer will be home to mice spiders squirrils

Foggin
Fogging is problably overkill but I wouldnt start the engine unless you going to run it ...
Colding starting dumps lots of fuel into the engine
Oil change is a good idea to get as much fuel out of the engine as possible
