My motor has less than 1000 miles on it from a 1025 kit build. All of the honing crosshatches are there from the last time and it looks like new. I had a cracked piston pin and caught it in time. I have a cheap 240grit hone. Its not a ball hone. I've heard nicasil needs a diamond hone or your wasting your time. Whats your opinion. Should I send it in or just put it back together. I'm putting in new pistons and rings in all four cylinders. Thanks

a diamond hone is all i use on nikasil cylnders u should always give a light hone when reringing to deglaze etc the bore.oil usage becomes aproblem when u dont do this later on and rings really never seat the right way this is escpecially true w/chrome rings in certain bores etc
